Abstract: This article examines the importance of co-curricular activities for student success, reviews literature
about narrative identity as it relates to adult students, and describes an ePortfolio project that captures contributions that nontraditional students bring to the classroom. The implications reinforce curriculum design practices and explore possibilities for enhancing the culture of nontraditional programs through improved assessment and a stronger student community.
