Abstract: There is no secret that academic portfolios are crucial for tenure-track of faculty members to demonstrate their professional achievements to be considered for promotion. There is no secret that academic portfolios are critical for students in many senior seminar courses. There is also no secret we are still in the infancy stages of the digital era and paper-based portfolios, research papers, and even resumes will eventually become a thing of the past. One issue currently facing many universities is how to best prepare students for entering into the workforce. While they are learning many skills pertinent to their careers, they are not necessarily learning basic skills that give them an edge against competitors for a position in their field of study. These basic skills are building and maintaining a website and using Web 2.0 tools. To move all universities into the digital age and give students the necessary tools for success beyond the classroom, it is important for librarians to train faculty members and students how to create their own websites with a free and easy-to-use Web page-creation tool, such as Google Sites, to create their ePortfolios.
